Reflective learning - nothing new?

Reflect - think seriously, carefully, and relatively calmly
(Encarta Dictionary)

Our Academy and our Journal are about learning and one of the best ways to learn is through reflection, defined somewhere as looking back and thinking carefully, about something you've seen, heard or learned. And yet that in itself isn’t
where it ends, because true reflection only occurs when we compare what we are seeing or hearing with what is our own usual practice. It is through reflection that we grow our knowledge about ourselves, our strengths and most importantly about the gaps in our knowledge and skills that challenge us. Only then can we have some hope of reaching that goal of
Excellence.
