The experiences of caregivers when seeking and/or receiving oral health care for their child with autism

Aim and Objective: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder, which is increasing at an unprecedented rate. Children with ASD have an increased risk for poor oral health when compared to their peers without ASD. Parents of children with autism experience challenges and obstacles when obtaining oral health care for their child.
