Editorial: Non-pharmacological hubris

This issue of the Journal includes a report of the Presidential conferences held under the leadership of former President of the British Society of Disability and Oral Health, Gill Greenwood. But the report also gives us an insight into the development of Special Care Dentistry through the experiences of a practitioner who grew up with profession. The piece is a charming illustration of the general (the development of a specialty) through description of the specific career of our former President. I think it is an interesting analogy for the clinical task – taking general principles and applying them to the unique circumstances of the individual.
