The oral health needs of people experiencing homelessness in Derbyshire

Abstract
Homelessness is multifactorial, with people often experiencing an amalgamation of deprivation, mental health illness, social exclusion and physical ill-health. Evidence shows they have a higher proportion of dental disease than the general population, but are less likely to seek treatment. Following the set-up of a service providing care to homeless within Derby City and Chesterfield, a service evaluation was conducted to understand the unmet
treatment need of this population.
